The 7th and 8th grades have approximately 22 lessons left.  The week prior to AIMS we will be practicing an AIMS preparation test and reviewing any concepts that students are unsure of.  The 3rd Quarter test will be Thursday March 10th.  If you miss that date the test must be made up by Friday March 11th. We are already two weeks into the the third quarter and we're approaching its midway point and there is plenty to look forward to.  We are two weeks from progress reports and about three months away from the AIMS test.  It is vital that we do our strongest work and cover the greatest amount of material over these next few months.  &lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Here are the concepts that each grade is covering over the next few weeks:&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;7th:  Slope, advanced balanced equations, variable isolation/manipulation, inequalities, coordinate planes, and functions&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;8th:  Midpoint discovery, coordinate/Pythagorean Theorem extension, inequalities, linear equations, and Slope-intercept-form.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Stay on top of your journal work and be prepared for your wednesday quizzes. There are two weeks left.  This week students will be completing their test reviews and preparing for their 2nd Quarter Test on Thursday December 9th.  This Test will be weighted heavily so please study and work hard this week.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Journals are also due this &lt;wbr&gt;week as I will be grading &lt;wbr&gt;them all week long.  Please &lt;wbr&gt;get them put together and &lt;wbr&gt;turned in.  If you are going &lt;wbr&gt;to miss your Quarter Test on &lt;wbr&gt;Thursday please speak to me about making it up by &lt;wbr&gt;Friday.  Final grades must be &lt;wbr&gt;in by the end of class Friday.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Next week we will be doing &lt;wbr&gt;CBM testing and Buckledown &lt;wbr&gt;review. The 2nd quarter Test is in three weeks. The first Quarter test is behind and momentum is building as we begin using our buckle down curriculum daily.  Students will begin to have a heavier workload and, as a result, see more homework. Their Journal work has become much more consistent and well thought out as a whole. The 2nd quarter is when we quicken our pace so students must keep their focus. We are studying prime factorization, area, perimeter, and word problem diagramming.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;8th: We are presently studying insufficeint information comparisons, graphing inequalities, and computing complex figure area.
